‘Unearthed’: Ceramics by Jane Sheppard
7 May @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 12:00pm, repeating until 15 May 2020
Jane Sheppard has been making large-scale and timeless sculptural, coil-built ceramic forms for over 30 years; quietly exploring this most ancient skill as a spiritual process into our deepest human connections. The journey is the process as much as the outcome.
This exhibition is a collection of finely coiled, smoke-fired forms and vessels. It also reveals their individual stories.
“Jane’s work gracefully combines earthen elegance with spiritual resonance; a contemporary expression of an ancient ceramic craft with deep roots in our exploration of the human condition through made objects”.
Jane was a full-time lecturer in Art and Design at Bath College for 14 years. She now runs her practice at Bath Artists Studios and is a faculty member of OneSpirit interfaith foundation.
The exhibition is open daily from 12-5pm (weekends by appointment) until Friday 15 May.
Opening Reception Thursday 23 April. All Welcome
