Anna Simson: An Exhibition of Practically (Dys)functional Cups and Functional Ware
3 May @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 12:00pm, repeating until 23 May 2019
Graduating in 2018 with an MA in Ceramics from Bath Spa University, Anna makes sculptural and functional pieces.
The exhibition shows work from Anna’s MA show – Practically (Dys)Functional. A playful study of handles and functionality, Anna’s cups explore how we use these ubiquitous vessels in everyday life. Humorous in observation, each cup holds liquid but can often be awkward, dangerous or challenging to use. Displaying them in groups creates relationships within and between each cup and underlying their playful interaction is a nod to another interpretation of dysfunctionality.
Anna will also be showing and selling a selection of functional ware from everyday mugs to jugs and bowls.
