Akiko Ogawa: ‘かみ’ – Kami
14 June @ 12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 12:00pm, repeating until 30 June 2019
Kami represents the artist’s conception of the invisible forces of nature. The show aims to portray the artist’s visionary state of abstraction of current known and existing realities. The artist creates images that illustrate flows of energy and elemental forces surrounding the cosmos. It seeks to display a mix of imagination, hyperrealism with an essence of surrealism towards the infinite possibilities of the universe and beyond. The show is an entrance into the multidimensional wonders of the artist’s intuitive mind and thoughts processes.
Born in Japan, Akiko Ogawa has been one of three BSU artists in residence at Bath Artists’ Studios since 2018.
The exhibition is open to the public 12.00-5.00pm Weekdays, weekends by appointment. An opening reception will be held on Thursday 13 June from 6-8pm.
Akiko will deliver a lunchtime talk about her work on Thursday 20 June from 12.30-1.30pm
