For the past 36 years I have earned a living as a Commercial Artist, working at all levels of design & illustration – from editorial cartoons and small logos for wine labels to large scale advertising campaigns, museum exhibition spaces, coin designs and archaeological reconstructions.

For a decade I was also a commercial sculptor – making a popular range of garden ornaments in Britain and a hideously twee range of collectables for the American market

About 10 years ago I began to think that there must be more to creativity than ephemeral Ads for haemorrhoid cream and intoxicating liquor – and resolved to try to paint something less commercial and more personal.

My personal painting has evolved (so I have been told) in the direction of ‘Lowbrow’ or ‘Pop Surrealism’ styles – and I am currently working on some images loosely based around Circus iconography.
